Basketball Recap: Centennial Comes Up Short

Centennial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were dealt a 63-28 defeat at the hands of the Boise Brave. The Patriots were probably out for revenge after losing 49-15 to them when the teams met back in December of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Centennial's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ginger Allred, who went 6 of 12 on her way to 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Julia Lechuga, who posted 11 points.

It was another big night for Kaity Haan, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds for Boise. The dominant performance also gave Haan a new career-high in steals (five). Morgan Montgomery was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Centennial's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Boise, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.

Centennial has already played their next matchup, a 51-36 loss against Timberline on the 17th. As for Boise, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 37-31 victory against Borah on the 17th.
