Basketball Game Preview: Selma Bears vs. Paso Robles Bearcats

Having just played yesterday, the Selma Bears will jump right back in to play the Paso Robles Bearcats at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Selma is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.

Selma saw some tournament action on Thursday. They came up short against Bishop Amat, falling 60-34. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1036th, while the Lancers are ranked 168th).

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 68-39, which was the final score in Paso Robles' tilt against Arroyo Grande on Thursday. The matchup marked the Bearcats' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Selma's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Paso Robles, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-5.

Everything came up roses for Selma against Paso Robles in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, as the team secured a 79-38 victory. Does Selma have another victory up their sleeve, or will Paso Robles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
