Baseball Recap: Marshall Takes a Loss

Marshall had lost three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 10-11 to make it four. They lost 11-4 to the Williamston Hornets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 on Tuesday.

As for Williamston, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-7 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 matchups by six runs or more this season.

For Williamston's part, Miles Keener was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits Keener has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Hart, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Marshall didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 17-3 victory against Pennfield on the 30th. As for Williamston, they have also already played their next contest, an 8-2 win against Western on the 30th.
