Soccer Recap: Rye Takes a Loss

After flying high against Pueblo Central last Thursday, Rye came back down to earth. The Thunderbolts lost 4-1 to the Thomas MacLaren School Highlanders on Tuesday. Surprisingly, this marked Rye's fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Their goal came courtesy of Madison Kirchhoff, who's now up to four this season.

Rye now has a losing record of 5-6-2. As for Thomas MacLaren School, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-5-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rye will venture away from home to square off against Florence at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Rye will be up against Florence's rather soft defense (which has allowed 5.38 goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Thomas MacLaren School, they will head out on the road to take on The Vanguard School at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
