Basketball Recap: Glenwood Takes a Loss

If Glenwood was feeling good fresh off their 64-20 takedown of Fairview last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Glenwood Tigers fell 54-44 to the Notre Dame Titans on Monday. The Tigers lost against the Titans in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 63-23 score last time.

Notre Dame found their leader in freshman Laney Strickland, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. Jaysa Bryant was another key player, putting up 13 points and five boards.

Glenwood has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for Notre Dame, their win bumped their record up to 9-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Glenwood Tigers face off against the Green Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Notre Dame, they will challenge Clay at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Notre Dame is facing Clay at the right time seeing as Clay is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
