Basketball Game Preview: Camden Central Lions vs. Houston County Fighting Irish + How To Watch

Camden Central is a perfect 5-0 against Houston County since December of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Lions will be playing at home against the Fighting Irish at 7:30 p.m. Camden Central knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Houston County likes a good challenge.

Camden Central is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest defeat since January 7th on Monday. They were beaten by Henry County 88-58. The loss was the Lions' first of the season.

The losing side was boosted by Jake Reynoldson, who shot 67% from the field to rack up 14 points in addition to five boards and three blocks. He is on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 58% in the last three games he's played. Jake Barker was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Meanwhile, Houston County strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They were the clear victors by a 53-30 margin over Stewart County.

Camden Central better focus on containing Townes Epps and Ryan Carter as the pair were huge in Houston County's win. Epps went 7-for-11 on his way to 17 points and four steals, while Carter shot 70% from the field en route to 15 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. Those 17 points gave Epps a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Burgess, who posted ten points.

Houston County's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Camden Central, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Tuesday's game is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: Camden Central has been dynamite from deep this season, having nailed 40.2% of their three-pointers per game. However, it's not like Houston County struggles in that department as they've made 36.6% of their three-pointers this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.

Everything came up roses for Camden Central against Houston County when the teams last played back in February, as the team secured a 58-28 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Carter, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 11 boards.
