Baseball Recap: Bristol County Agricultural Comes Up Short

Bristol County Agricultural extended their losing streak to six on Monday, dropping their season record down to 1-10 in the process. They came up short against the Old Colony RVT Cougars, falling 13-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-0 two weeks ago.

As for Old Colony RVT, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 13-5. Considering they have won seven matches by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

For Old Colony RVT's part, Cole Correia made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave Correia a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Colin Monahan was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Michael Tomkiewicz was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

Looking ahead, Bristol County Agricultural will head out on the road to face off against South Shore Vo-Tech at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Old Colony RVT, they will be playing at home against Diman RVT at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
