Joslyn Korcok was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Korcok was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Slippery Rock got a big performance out of Christy Frazier, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Grace Wetzel, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.
Slippery Rock always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Jamestown fell victim to Sharon and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. It was the first time this season that the Muskies let down their fans at home.
Miranda Biles spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on five hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
Jamestown's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Slippery Rock, their victory bumped their record up to 2-8.
