Basketball Recap: Hug Beats Mineral County for Their Third Straight Win

Hug waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They wrapped up 2024 with a 68-50 victory over the Mineral County Serpents.

When it comes to explaining why Mineral County lost, don't look at Jaeden Majano. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Majano a new career-high in assists (four). Robert Wilson was another key player, putting up nine points and six rebounds.

Hug's win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Mineral County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.

Hug will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Wooster at 7:30 p.m. on January 8th. Hug knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Wooster likes a good challenge.
