Recap: Southland Rebels vs. Cooter Wildcats
The Southland Rebels lost against the Cooter Wildcats back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Southland was the victim of a tough 70-45 loss at the hands of Cooter. Southland has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
It was another big night for Caleb Gunnels, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 13 rebounds for Cooter. Gunnels is absolutely dominating the block category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Ethan Strickland was another key contributor, almost dropping a triple-double on 11 points, 9 rebounds, and 10 assists.
Southland's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Cooter, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Holcomb the next time they take the court. Southland will head out to face Holcomb at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Cooter will host them at 7:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
