Softball Recap: Rainier Beach Takes a Loss

After soaring to 17 runs the game before, Rainier Beach was a bit more limited in their match on Thursday. They lost 20-2 to the Ingraham Rams. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Vikings of the 33-15 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2023.

Rainier Beach saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was CJ Willis, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Sema'J Duncan also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.

Rainier Beach's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Ingraham, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-7.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Rainier Beach is set to square off against their familiar foe Chief Sealth at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Ingraham will take on rival Nathan Hale at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
