Basketball Recap: Aiken's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Gray Collegiate Academy, Aiken was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They took down the Airport Eagles 67-53. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 70-49 back in December of 2024.

Aiken's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tre'Von Walker, who went 7 of 9 en route to 17 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Julian Graham, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 11 points along with seven assists and five steals.

Aiken smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups.

With the win, Aiken broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-10. As for Airport, they dropped their record down to 4-13 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Aiken will head out to take on Gilbert at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Aiken is facing Gilbert at the right time seeing as Gilbert is stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Airport, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 107-39 defeat against Brookland-Cayce on the 25th.
