Basketball Recap: Riverton Takes a Loss

Riverton was the 68-49 winner over Galena when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Riverton Rams came up short against the Galena Bulldogs on Friday, falling 54-33. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 146th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 49th).

Riverton's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 5-2. As for Galena, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Columbus the next time they take the court. Riverton will host Columbus on Monday, while Galena will host them at 7:00 p.m. on January 28th.
