League recap: Hilliard Darby stuns Dublin Scioto in upset

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Hilliard Darby, who took down 30th ranked Dublin Scioto, 28-24. Caleb Day ran for 84 yards and caught four passes for 55 yards in the win.

The Panthers extended the longest winning streak in Ohio Capital - Cardinal this week by beating the Irish, 28-24. The victory was the eighth in a row for Hilliard Darby.

Westerville Central's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jared Drake threw for 138 and three touchdowns and Charlie Moushey had 66 yards receiving. On the ground Alex Fisher chipped in 119 yards. Micah Lowe helped Westerville Central's passing attack out by catching two balls for 60 yards.

Westerville Central's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Warhawks feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Drake has thrown for 1109 yards and 14 touchdowns this season, while Moushey has 27 catches for 490 yards. Drake also leads the league in rushing with 918 yards.

The Warhawks' Drake needs only 82 yards against John Santagata's team next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Panthers take on Westerville Central. Hilliard Darby is in first place, while John Magistro's team is in third place.

There should be lots of points scored when the Panthers and the Warhawks face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Hilliard Darby comes in having scored 299 this season, while Westerville Central has scored 230. The Panthers scored 28 points last week as they bested Dublin Scioto.

Worthington Kilbourne moved up to 200 from 240 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Ohio Capital - Cardinal. The Wolves climbed the ranks as a result of falling to Dublin Jerome 20-17.
