Basketball Recap: Nine Straight Home Victories for Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis

Heritage Classical Christian Academy came into Tuesday's contest looking for another win against Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis, but Ricardo Jones wouldn't allow it. The Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis Crusaders managed a 52-46 win over the Heritage Classical Christian Academy Hawks on Tuesday thanks in part to Jones, who posted 31 points and eight steals. That makes it 20 consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis' points.

Jayden Pollard was another key player, putting up two points along with ten boards and three steals. He has been hot for a while, having posted nine or more rebounds the last 12 times he's played.

When it comes to explaining why Heritage Classical Christian Academy lost, don't look at Luke Heskett. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 30 points and 18 boards. The dominant performance gave Heskett a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Gray, who scored nine points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Christian Academy of Greater St. Louis' victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-5. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.7 points per game. As for Heritage Classical Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-3 record this season.

As for Heritage Classical Christian Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Varsity Opponent at 5:30 p.m. on February 11th. Heritage Classical Christian Academy also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 54.6 points per game.
