MaxPreps breaks down 10 intriguing high school football showdowns that cross state borders.

They grow more popular each year and they often comprise some of the best football matchups in the country.

Interstate football games remain on the rise, and the 2013 schedule is already loaded with intriguing storylines.

Though schedules for some teams are still in flux, here are the top 10 interstate games to watch as of right now.

10. Webb City (Mo.) vs. Har-Ber (Springdale, Ark.)

When: Aug. 30
Webb City currently has the nation's third-longest winning streak at 45 games. Going on the road and taking on Har-Ber, led by blue-chip nose guard Josh Frazier, will be a major test.{PAGEBREAK}9. DeMatha (Hyattsville, Md.) vs. Godby (Tallahassee, Fla.)

Loaded with a deep senior class and promising underclassmen, DeMatha appears poised for a great season. Top teams from the Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana-Tennessee area of the country have grown accustomed to playing each other over the last five years. Trinity and Ensworth could be the two top programs from that area during that span, so their matchup is highly anticipated.{PAGEBREAK}6. Central (Miami) vs. Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey, N.J.)

Don Bosco Prep came up short in 2012, but returns most of its defense, which was very young a year ago. Miami Central appears loaded on paper, especially on offense. Don Bosco Prep is undefeated against Florida competition.{PAGEBREAK}5. Paramus Catholic (N.J.) vs. St. Ignatius (Cleveland)

Led by Jabrill Peppers, Paramus Catholic could be the top team in the Garden State this fall. The true definition of a perennial power, St. Ignatius has won 11 state titles and will once again be among the top teams in Ohio. {PAGEBREAK}4. Trinity (Euless, Texas) vs. Bentonville (Ark.)

The state of Texas had a very good showing against Oklahoma teams last year. Now, one of the Lone Star State's best will do battle against the top program from neighboring state Arkansas when Trinity and Bentonville lock horns.{PAGEBREAK}3. Byrnes (Duncan, S.C.) vs. Apopka (Fla.)

Byrnes has been one of the country's most consistent programs recently; that should continue with Bobby Bentley returning as head coach. Apopka will be quite the test, having captured Florida's 8A title last fall. Favored to repeat, Apopka returns a wealth of firepower.{PAGEBREAK}2. Norcross (Ga.) vs. Washington (Miami)

This game is probably more like a 1B than a No. 2, given the quality of both teams. Norcross went undefeated and captured the AAAAAA title last fall and returns many key pieces. Washington also won a state title and could be the top team in Florida this fall.{PAGEBREAK}1. St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) vs. Curtis (River Ridge, La.)

John Curtis also has a game against Bergen Catholic, but it's the showdown with St. Thomas Aquinas that fans are most excited about. Both have captured national titles in the last five years and both will be very good in 2013.
