Volleyball Recap: Shippensburg Comes Up Short

Shippensburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Northern York Polar Bears. If the Greyhounds were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Polar Bears when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Shippensburg started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 24-26, 25-16, 25-21, 25-16.

Kacie Mentzer paced Shippensburg's offense, picking up eight kills. Mentzer really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 14. Emma Dyson controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Shippensburg's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Shippensburg is set to face off against their familiar foe Greencastle-Antrim at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Northern York will take on rival James Buchanan at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
