The Paoli Rams will head out to challenge the West Washington Senators at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
West Washington will be up against a hot Paoli squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Everything went the Rams' way against Austin on Monday as they made off with a 14-4 win. 14 seems to be a good number for the Rams as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Kalyn Hannon was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Jae Walker, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Paoli always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, West Washington made easy work of Providence on Wednesday and carried off a 14-2 win. The Senators might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.
Alaina Schmidt made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Layla Manship, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Meredith Deaton was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Paoli pushed their record up to 5-11 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for West Washington, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-4.
Paoli might still be hurting after the 11-0 defeat they got from West Washington when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
