Recap: Upsala Cardinals vs. Pierz Pioneers
The Upsala Cardinals were the 40-37 winner over the Pierz Pioneers when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Upsala took a hard 62-46 fall against Pierz on Tuesday.
Upsala's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brenna Graves, who scored 13 points. Zoey Leners was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven rebounds.
Upsala now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Pierz, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-10.
Upsala will be playing in front of their home fans against Long Prairie-Grey Eagle at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Long Prairie-Grey Eagle is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Pierz, they will head out on the road to challenge Mora at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Mora is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.
