Softball Recap: Clay Beats Whiteoak for Their Third Straight Victory

Clay entered their tilt with Whiteoak on Saturday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Wildcats 11-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 16-1 on Saturday.

Carlee Reynolds was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Sarah Cassidy, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Clay always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .656. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.

Clay pushed their record up to 6-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Whiteoak, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7.

Coming up, Clay will be playing at home against East at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Whiteoak, they will venture away from home to take on Fairfield at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
