Volleyball Recap: Catalina Comes Up Short

Catalina lost against Tanque Verde back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Trojans lost 3-0 to the Hawks.

The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-12, 25-4.

Tanque Verde was led to victory by Lauren Rietz and Maddy Miller. Rietz had seven aces and four digs, while Miller had six digs and six aces. That's the most aces Miller has posted since back in October of 2024. Megan Hadley also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.

Catalina's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Tanque Verde, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-10.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Catalina will face off against rival Sabino at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Tanque Verde is set to square off against their familiar foe Thatcher at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
