Softball Recap: Chula Vista Learning Community Charter Takes a Loss

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Chula Vista Learning Community Charter and Coastal Academy, and Coastal Academy kept the tradition alive. The Chula Vista Learning Community Charter Cobras lost 20-10 to the Coastal Academy Stingrays on Monday. The Cobras were not able to make up for their loss to the Stingrays from their previous meeting back in May of 2021.

Jasmine Rios was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-1. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alana Olivas, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3.

Chula Vista Learning Community Charter now has a losing record of 2-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chula Vista Learning Community Charter will square off against San Ysidro at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. San Ysidro knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Chula Vista Learning Community Charter likes a good challenge. As for Coastal Academy, they will take on La Jolla Country Day at 1:15 p.m. on Friday.
