Volleyball Recap: Farmington Comes Up Short

Farmington entered their game against St. Pius X on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Knights lost 3-0 to the Lancers. The Knights were not able to make up for their defeat to the Lancers from their previous meeting back in November of 2024.

Farmington took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-18, 25-19.

When it comes to explaining why Farmington lost, don't look at Ally Boyd. Despite the final result, she had seven digs and one block. Boyd is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 14 or more in each of the last nine games she's played. Brenna Botkin also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

St. Pius X can attribute much of their success to Harper Gass, who had ten digs and four assists. That's the most assists Gass has posted over her last seven matchups.

Farmington's loss dropped their record down to 13-4-1. As for St. Pius X, their win bumped their record up to 12-4.

Coming up, Farmington will challenge DeSoto at 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for St. Pius X, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Potosi on the 18th.
