The Fillmore Eagles will challenge the Cuba-Rushford Rebels at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Monday, Fillmore made easy work of Andover and carried off a 16-1 win. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Mylee Miller made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Morghyn Ross, who went 3-for-5 with seven RBI, two stolen bases, and three runs. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Abby Earley, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Cuba-Rushford had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Panthers as they made off with a 21-2 win.
Cuba-Rushford's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Fillmore, their win bumped their record up to 9-3.
Fillmore's speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's matchup. The Eagles have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Cuba-Rushford, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Fillmore continue to outrun the ball?
Fillmore came out on top in a nail-biter against Cuba-Rushford in their previous matchup back in April, sneaking past 11-9. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rebels turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
