Recap: Sierra Chieftains vs. Alpaugh Buffalos
On Friday, The Sierra Chieftains got themselves on the board against the Alpaugh Buffalos, but the Alpaugh Buffalos never followed suit. They claimed a resounding 48-0 victory over the Buffalos on the road. Given Sierra's advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked tenth, while Alpaugh is ranked 68th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Tanner Forrester was the offensive standout of the matchup as he rushed for 77 yards and two touchdowns. Logan Kilbert was in the mix as well, providing Sierra with two touchdowns.
Sierra's win was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 5-5. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-8 Alpaugh and 4-5 Orcutt Academy (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 37% over those games). As for Alpaugh, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
Sierra will be playing at home against Orcutt Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Alpaugh does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
