Oak Forest Academy has won five straight games at home, while Columbia Academy has won five straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Yellowjackets will welcome the Cougars at 6:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Thursday, Oak Forest Academy made easy work of Parklane Academy and carried off a 9-3 victory. The Yellowjackets haven't had any issues with the Pioneers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Oak Forest Academy got a great performance from Brody Thomas as he tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. The dominant performance also gave Thomas a new career-high in strikeouts (five).
On the hitting side, Oak Forest Academy let Maison Bales and Kaul Perkins run wild. Bales got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one double, while Perkins went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double. That's the most stolen bases Bales has posted since back in February. Blayke Danna was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Oak Forest Academy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Columbia Academy duked it out with Silliman Institute on Friday. The Cougars blew past the Wildcats 12-2.
Owen Simmons was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI.
In other batting news, Zac McCain was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Roman Lawrence, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and one stolen base.
Columbia Academy's victory bumped their record up to 18-6. As for Oak Forest Academy, their win bumped their record up to 15-3.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Oak Forest Academy hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.7 home runs per game. However, it's not like Columbia Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 1.2 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Oak Forest Academy skirted past Columbia Academy 6-4 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Do the Yellowjackets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
