Recap: Cumberland Academy Knights vs. Tyler HEAT
The Cumberland Academy Knights lost against Tyler HEAT back in November of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Cumberland Academy was beaten by Tyler HEAT 70-26. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Cumberland Academy has scored all season.
Jackson Tomlin continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Tyler HEAT, scoring 13 points along with three steals. The contest was Tomlin's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Waker Hartman, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Cumberland Academy bumped their record down to 3-8 with that loss, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Tyler HEAT, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cumberland Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Village Tech at 1:30 p.m. on December 16th. Village Tech has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Tyler HEAT is on the road again on Monday and play against Grapeland at 6:30 p.m. on December 18th. Grapeland will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 823rd, while Tyler HEAT is ranked 256th).
