Baseball Recap: Sunnyside Comes Up Short

Sunnyside and Queen Creek squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Sunnyside had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 4-3. That's two games in a row now that the Blue Devils have lost by just one run.

Sunnyside saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was LUCAS MATA, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Sunnyside and nudges their season record down to 19-10. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games. As for Queen Creek, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-12 record this season.

Sunnyside does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Queen Creek, they will face off against Brophy College Prep on Thursday. The Broncos will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight.
