Softball Game Preview: Plano West Wolves vs. Princeton Panthers

The Plano West Wolves are taking a road trip to challenge the Princeton Panthers at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Plano West has four straight victories, Princeton has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

While Plano West's win against Allen wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Plano West had just enough and edged out Allen 3-2 on Tuesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Marlee Flanigan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits and racked up eight Ks. Those eight strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Plano West saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrea Carrillo, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Meanwhile, Princeton came up short against Allen on Friday, falling 13-3.

Princeton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10-1. As for Plano West, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.
