With a playoff game on the line, the Mount Vernon Mustangs rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Eagles 104-47 at home. Mount Vernon's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Mount Vernon had a senior duo take command as Sha'yah Goba dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 rebounds and Xavier Shegog dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. Shegog is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ethan Siggers, who scored nine points along with two steals.

The win (which was Mount Vernon's sixth in a row) raised their record to 19-9. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.7 points per game. As for Coosa, they dropped their record down to 10-20 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Mount Vernon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Coosa also has no future games currently scheduled.
