Volleyball Recap: The Vanguard School Gets the Win

The Vanguard School won the last time they faced Fountain Valley and things went their way on Saturday too. The Coursers walked away with a 2-0 win over the Danes.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: The Vanguard School took both sets by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-14.

Lucas Soeldner paced The Vanguard School's offense, picking up 12 kills. Soeldner got some help from Joseph Wetters and his 23 assists. Evahn Gritsyna controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

The Vanguard School's victory bumped their record up to 6-12. As for Fountain Valley, their defeat was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7.

Coincidentally, The Vanguard School and Fountain Valley will both be playing James Irwin the next time they take the court. The Danes will host the Jaguars at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Coursers will play them later in the day, at 11:00 a.m.
