Basketball Recap: St. John Piles Up the Points Against Chase

A well-balanced attack led St. John over Chase in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the St. John Tigers blew the Chase Kats out of the water with a 71-26 final score. That 45 point margin sets a new team best for the Tigers this season.

Despite the loss, Chase saw an underclassman step up: freshman Malik Carson dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. Those 11 points gave Carson a new career-high.

The win was the third in a row for St. John, bringing their record for this year to 11-5. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points per game. As for Chase, they dropped their record down to 1-15 with the defeat, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.
