Volleyball Recap: Highland Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Highland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kankakee Valley Kougars. If the Trojans were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Kougars when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Highland started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-8, 25-18, 25-18.

Their offense was headlined by Hannah Ladewski and Erin Kowal, who picked up nine kills apiece. They got some help from Elena Herrejon and her 12 assists. Reese Markus controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Highland's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Kankakee Valley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-5.

Highland didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Hobart on the 9th. Kankakee Valley has also already played their next contest (against the Scots), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
