Football Recap: Valentine Piles Up the Points Against Gibbon

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Chadron, Valentine was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 42-0 victory over the Gibbon Buffaloes. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Valentine just coasted through the last quarter.

Trace Buechle had a dynamite game, throwing for 247 yards and three touchdowns while completing 90% of his passes, and also punching in one score on the ground. That's the most passing yards he has posted since back in September of 2024.

Valentine's defense stepped up as well, laying out Adan Tamayo. three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Parker Chavez, Jordan Bailey, and Brendan Battershaw, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Valentine's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Gibbon, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Valentine will head out on the road to square off against Centura at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Gibbon, they will host Gordon-Rushville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
