Basketball Game Preview: Rosehill Christian Eagles vs. Northland Christian Cougars

Two dominant guards in Jensen Mireles and Kameron McKnight are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Rosehill Christian Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Northland Christian Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Rosehill Christian has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 28.

Rosehill Christian is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against St. Francis Episcopal on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Rosehill Christian had to suffer through a 93-39 loss at the hands of St. Francis Episcopal. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 944th, while the Wolves are ranked 40th).

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Carter Johnson, who posted ten points along with five assists and five rebounds. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Mireles, who had 12 points and three steals.

Northland Christian has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 72-71 heartbreaker at the hands of St. Thomas Episcopal. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Saturday (60), the Cougars still had to take the loss.

Rosehill Christian now has a losing record at 13-14. As for Northland Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 21-5.
