Baseball Game Preview: Grafton Gators vs. Ashland Clockers

The Grafton Gators will face off against the Ashland Clockers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Grafton managed to slip by Shepherd Hill Regional the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Gators lost 11-1 to the Rams on Thursday. The Gators' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Cam Megna got Grafton off to a strong start despite the final result, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Megna has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Grafton saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Haylan Oberg, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Ashland suffered their closest loss since April 28, 2025 on Wednesday. They fell just short of Holliston by a score of 7-5. Clockers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Panthers since Wednesday.

Jake Lemay made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three RBI. Ian McKaughan was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Ashland's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2-2. As for Grafton, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.
