Volleyball Recap: Portage Takes a Loss

Portage lost against Sauk Prairie on Saturday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Warriors fell 2-0 to the Eagles. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Portage may have fallen short, but they were sure consistent: they scored 18 points in every single set they played. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-18.

Addison Zuther paced Portage's offense, picking up six kills. Zuther got some help from Kate Stevenson and her eight assists. Zuther was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Leading Sauk Prairie to victory were Bentlee Conway and Leah Allen. Conway had nine digs, while Allen had seven digs and five assists. That's the most digs Conway has posted over her last six contests.

Portage's loss dropped their record down to 19-16. As for Sauk Prairie, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Portage will square off against Beaver Dam at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sauk Prairie, they will face off against Waunakee at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
