Baseball Recap: Coolidge Takes a Loss

Coolidge came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 29-2 to the Valley Christian Trojans. The Bears have struggled against the Trojans recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

Andrew Ashcraft was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Coolidge's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Valley Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-2 record this season.

Coolidge will welcome Florence at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Valley Christian, they will head out to challenge Yuma Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Trojans 2.1, the Shamrocks 1.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
