Soccer Recap: Sheldon Comes Up Short

While it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Sheldon was not quite Pleasant Grove's equal in the second half on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Pleasant Grove Eagles by a score of 4-3. The Huskies were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

Matthew Wilton-Tamayo and Emmanuel Alvarez scored all three of Sheldon's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 14 goals.

Sheldon's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4-3. As for Pleasant Grove, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sheldon will host Laguna Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pleasant Grove, they will look to defend their home pitch on Friday against Monterey Trail at 6:00 p.m. Pleasant Grove is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.2 goals per game this season.
