The Rehoboth Christian Lynx will face off against the Hozho Academy Wolves at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Having struggled with three losses in a row, Rehoboth Christian turned things around against Oak Grove Classical Academy on Tuesday. They blew past the Owls 20-13. The Lynx's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Rehoboth Christian got a massive performance out of Jude Christensen, who got on base in three of his six plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and four RBI. That's the most stolen bases Christensen has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonathan Zylstra, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.
Rehoboth Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Hozho Academy came tearing into Monday's game with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.9 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against Non Varsity Opponent as they made off with a 10-2 win. Surprisingly, this marked the Wolves' sixth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
The team relied heavily on Philip Elkins, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Elias Longhat, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one double.
Hozho Academy pushed their record up to 13-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Rehoboth Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 7-8.
Friday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Rehoboth Christian has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .451. However, it's not like Hozho Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .496. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
