Basketball Game Preview: Merkel Badgers vs. Grape Creek Eagles

Merkel is a perfect 10-0 against Grape Creek since February of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Merkel Badgers will venture away from home to square off against the Grape Creek Eagles at 7:15 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Merkel and six for Grape Creek.

Last Friday, Merkel took a blow against Sweetwater, falling 71-26.

Meanwhile, Grape Creek was beaten by Sweetwater 79-39 on Tuesday.

Merkel's defeat dropped their record down to 7-19. As for Grape Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 9-20.

Merkel didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Grape Creek when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 39-34 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Merkel since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
