Baseball Recap: Navajo Prep Sets Scoring Season-High Against Pecos

The matchup between Navajo Prep and Pecos on Saturday hardly resembled the 3-0 effort from their previous meeting. Navajo Prep was the clear victor by an 18-6 margin over Pecos. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Nehemiah Simpson was a standout: he scored two runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Koltyn Holyan, who scored two runs and stole six bases while going 1-for-3.

Navajo Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .742. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Navajo Prep's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Pecos, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

As for Pecos, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 15-5 defeat against Santa Fe Indian on the 24th.
