Wimberley lost against LBJ Austin back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Friday. The Texans and the Jaguars were almost perfectly matched up, but the Texans suffered  a  34-33 defeat. The loss put an end to the Texans' undefeated start to the season.

When it comes to explaining why Wimberley lost, don't look at  Maverick Jacobs. Despite the final result, he rushed for 159 yards and three  scores. Jacobs is  crushing it when it comes to  rushing touchdowns: he's   punched in at least two every time he's  taken the field this season.
 Even if they lost, Wimberley's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess:  Sylas Turner,  Hunter Kyle,  and  Wesley Milam, who each picked up one  sack apiece.
 LBJ Austin's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Jayelen House, who threw for 385 yards and five  touchdowns while completing 72.2% of his passes. Those  five  passing touchdowns gave  House a new career-high. LBJ Austin's leading receiver  Louis Hickman was  House's top target yet again, picking up 220 receiving yards and one  TD.
Having lost for the first time  this season, Wimberley  fell to 2-1. As for LBJ Austin, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.
 Looking ahead, Wimberley will look to defend their home field  on Friday against Lampasas  at 7:30  p.m. As for LBJ Austin, they will venture away from home to  take on Parish Episcopal  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 928 yards in their previous games.
