Baseball Game Preview: Franklin Panthers vs. Lincoln Tigers

For the second straight game, Franklin will face off against Lincoln. The Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Tigers at 2:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Franklin has three straight wins, Lincoln has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Franklin is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Lincoln with a sharp 19-1 victory on Monday. With that win, the Panthers brought their scoring average up to 7.1 runs per game.

Edurado Cuevas made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Joseph Galindo, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Issac Jauregi was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple and two RBI.

Franklin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive contests.
