Soccer Game Preview: Smithfield vs. Western Branch

The Smithfield Packers will venture away from home to face off against the Western Branch Bruins at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Smithfield's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over Ocean Lakes.

Meanwhile, Western Branch hadn't done well against Landstown recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Bruins beat the Eagles by a goal, winning 2-1.

Western Branch's record now sits at 3-1. As for Smithfield, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Smithfield beat Western Branch 2-0 in their previous matchup back in March of 2019. Will the Packers repeat their success, or do the Bruins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
