Football Recap: Quilcene Rangers vs. Lummi Blackhawks
Quilcene took care of business in their home opener on Saturday (and then some). They were the clear victor by a 38-18 margin over the Lummi Blackhawks. With the Rangers ahead 31-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
A big part of the win came down to the chemistry between Robert Evans and his top target Andrew Lopez. Evans rushed for 105 yards and two touchdowns while Lopez rushed for 75 yards and two touchdowns. Evans got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 60 yards.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Quilcene was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 248 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 172 rushing yards in seven consecutive matches dating back to last season.
