Baseball Preview: Tri-Central Trojans vs. Rossville Hornets

Tri-Central is 0-10 against Rossville since May of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Tri-Central Trojans will head out on the road to challenge the Rossville Hornets at 5:00 p.m. Tri-Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.

On Monday, Tri-Central came up short against Tipton and fell 7-3. Tri-Central has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Nate Cherry was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He tossed 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Cherry was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with a stolen base and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now stolen at least one in the last three games he's played.

Rossville lost 9-1 to Western on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for Rossville in their matchups with Western: they've now lost six in a row.

Tri-Central's record is now 4-7-1. As for Rossville, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-8.
