Baseball Recap: Wilson Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Muir, Wilson was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top against the Los Altos Conquerors by a score of 10-7. While the Wildcats didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Wilson got a massive performance out of Jacob Garcia, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Garcia a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Eduardo Velasco, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.

Wilson's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-2. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to strikeouts: they averaged an imposing 8.75 strikeouts in those games compared to only 2.33 in the others. As for Los Altos, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5-1.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Wilson Wildcats duke it out with Bosco Tech Tigers at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Los Altos, they will square off against San Dimas at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. San Dimas' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Los Altos' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
