Softball Recap: Franklin Monroe Jets vs. Bradford Railroaders

Franklin Monroe had lost nine straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 1-12 to make it ten. They came up short against the Bradford Railroaders, falling 10-3. The Jets were not able to make up for their defeat to the Railroaders from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.

Brooke Baker was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles. Lola Sando was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

As for Bradford, the win snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 4-7 record. Considering their hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

On Bradford's side, Hayven Evans was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two triples, two stolen bases, and three runs. Those two triples gave Evans a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bristol Wombold, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

Looking ahead, Franklin Monroe will be playing in front of their home fans against National Trail at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Bradford, they will venture away from home to challenge Milton-Union at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.06 runs per game on average), something the Railroaders will no doubt try to take advantage of.
