Baseball Game Preview: Kent-Meridian Royals vs. White River Hornets

For the second straight game, Kent-Meridian will face off against White River. The Royals are taking a road trip to take on the Hornets at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kent-Meridian has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with six straight defeats, while White River will come in with five straight victories.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Kent-Meridian's offense. They lost 24-0 to White River on Wednesday.

For White River's part, Lucas Brazier was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. The Hornets are undefeated when Brazier posts two or more runs, but 5-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Josiah Harris, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one RBI.

White River's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Kent-Meridian, their loss dropped their record down to 2-14.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Kent-Meridian has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like White River struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
